Amgen to Lay Off Horizon Therapeutics Staff Following $27.8 Billion Acquisition

On October 25, Jessica Akopyan, a spokesperson for Amgen, stated that over 80% of Horizon Therapeutics employees have been assigned to positions at Amgen. The spokesperson noted that none of the laid-off employees will have a departure date this year, and all layoffs will take place in the United States or Ireland. Earlier this month, Amgen completed its $27.8 billion acquisition of Horizon, a pharmaceutical company specializing in rare diseases.
