On October 14, 2025, AlfaNexus Bio, Inc. (“AlfaNexus”), the U.S. subsidiary of Great Bay Bio (GBB), announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with a leading Canada-based CDMO. The partnership combines GBB's AI-driven, site-specific integration platform, AlfaCell, with the CDMO's industrial-scale development and manufacturing capabilities to deliver an end-to-end offering from cell line development through clinical development and commercialization. This milestone advances GBB's global strategy and expands access to AlfaCell across North America and beyond.

As the world's first commercialized site-specific integration cell line development platform, AlfaCell delivers "Double Fast" and "High Titer" advantages that materially compress timelines and de-risk development. AlfaCell routinely produces high-yield, stable cell lines in approximately 1.5 months and enables product quality prediction in about 1 month—accelerating process development decisions and CMC readiness. Notably, AlfaCell has demonstrated exceptional performance with complex biologics, including bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) and multi-specifics, where conventional methods often struggle to achieve robust titers and stability.

By embedding AlfaCell into the partner's established North American CDMO network, the collaboration will:

  • Speed adoption and deployment of AlfaCell across U.S. and Canadian programs through local execution and support.

  • Elevate development efficiency and titers for difficult-to-express modalities (e.g., BsAbs, multi-specifics, fusion proteins, ADC, nanobodies).

  • Provide sponsors with a seamless, end-to-end path—from rapid, high-titer cell line generation and early      quality readouts to scale-up, GMP manufacturing, analytics, and global clinical supply.

The CDMO partner brings a seasoned team of development scientists and a comprehensive suite of services spanning process development, GMP production, and advanced analytics for biologics and vaccines. With commercial services across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and other regions, the partner's infrastructure and quality systems are an ideal springboard for broader AlfaCell utilization in complex protein programs.

"The AlfaCell platform's AI-driven, site-specific integration allows us to achieve high-yield stable cell lines in roughly 1.5 months—speed and consistency beyond conventional approaches," said a representative of the CDMO. "For modalities like bispecific and multi-specific antibodies, where expression and stability can be challenging, AlfaCell's 'Double Fast' and 'High Titer' profile is a compelling differentiator. Coupled with our global development and manufacturing network, we can offer sponsors faster, more predictable CMC execution and a clearer path to clinic and market."

This strategic partnership not only deepens GBB's integration with the North American biopharma ecosystem but also lays the groundwork to extend collaboration into adjacent modalities, including mRNA and cell therapies. Together, the companies aim to build a more agile, innovation-driven global biopharmaceutical landscape—one that brings complex biologics to patients faster and at higher quality.
