Prior to this, he also advanced through the ranks at established giants such as BD and Roche Diagnostics.It is worth mentioning that Medtronic's neuromodulation business just appointed Dr. Ashwini (Ash) Sharan as the company's Chief Medical Officer in June this year. This department includes clinical research, medical education, patient safety, health economics, and medical science divisions.Dr. de CsepelWorked at Medtronic for 16 years and resigned in September 2023.Prior to this, he led the medical affairs teams at Barrx Medical and Covidien Surgical, demonstrating his exceptional leadership and extensive expertise in the medical technology industry.
LivaNova Appoints New Director
ECMO Giant
On October 6, 2023, ECMO giant LivaNova PLC announced,Appointed J. Christopher Barry, former CEO of spinal leader company NuVasive, as the new director.Barry's appointment became effective on October 6, 2023, and he joined the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board on the same day. The former director, Andrea Saia, will retire from the Board on December 31, 2023. Saia joined the Board of LivaNova as a company director in 2016.Barry has over two decades of experience in the medical technology industry. He began serving as the CEO and director of NuVasive in 2018 until the company completed its merger with Globus Medical last month.Before joining NuVasive, Barry worked from January 2015 to October 2018.Senior Vice President and President of the Surgical Innovations Division at MedtronicPrior to this, he worked at Covidien (which was eventually acquired by Medtronic) for 15 years, holding sales and leadership positions.Baxter Appoints General Manager for China RegionIn September, top medical device giant BaxterOfficially announced that Mr. Wu Xin is the General Manager of China Region.The appointment will take effect next week (October 7th).On July 25 this year, Baxter announced that it would name its kidney care and acute treatment businesses, which are in the process of being spun off, as Vanive for a separate listing. The listing is expected to be completed by July 2024 or earlier.With the advancement of business spin-offs and the update of corporate development strategies,Baxter's leaders in various regions around the world have also welcomed a new wave of "reshuffling."Outside of China, Baxter also announced on its official website the appointment of Stephen (Steve) H. In November 2018, Mr. Tornos joined Zimmer Biomet as President of the Orthopedics Group and was appointed President of Global Businesses and the Americas Group a year later. In March 2021, he was named Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all of Zimmer Biomet's global businesses and leading global operations, clinical and medical education, as well as global R&D and new product development functions. In this role, he has primary responsibility for the Americas as well as the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions.
