For six years, the CIIE has not only provided an excellent platform for the exchange and display of global innovative products and cutting-edge technologies but also helped more Chinese patients benefit from its powerful spillover effects. Many companies, including Roche, have benefited from the CIIE's acceleration of "exhibits turning into commodities." Roche has showcased over 30 innovative drugs and new indications at the CIIE, most of which products and solutions have already been introduced in China. Take Roche’s "CIIE star baby" Xofluza as an example, which received significant attention during the flu season. During the third CIIE, Xofluza was included in the list of urgently needed clinical drugs from overseas, and the following year it was approved for marketing. It has now achieved medical insurance coverage, supports online drug purchases through internet hospitals, providing Chinese people with a new, convenient, and effective flu solution. This year, Xofluza has expanded its use to treat influenza in children aged 5-12, contributing to the development of public health in China in the post-pandemic era. Additionally, the "CIIE baby" Alecensa born at the first CIIE recently announced the latest global Phase III clinical study ALINA, which can reduce the risk of disease recurrence or death by 76%. This is the world's first Phase III clinical study showing disease-free survival (DFS) benefits in adjuvant treatment after surgery for ALK-positive early non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, marking a significant advancement in the treatment of early-stage lung cancer patients.
This year, Roche will once again present a full portfolio of nearly 30 marketed and upcoming products along with innovative solutions on its 1,000-square-meter exhibition booth at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Highlighting the event, six globally innovative products set to launch in China will be unveiled, covering key disease areas such as hematological oncology, breast cancer, ophthalmology, and neuroscience. As a leader in hematological oncology, Roche boasts a robust product pipeline. This time, Roche will introduce Glofitamab, an innovative bispecific antibody targeting CD20/CD3. As a next-generation ready-to-use immunotherapy, it has the potential to further improve the curability of relapsed or refractory lymphoma. Another innovative drug, Crovalimab, used for treating Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), was granted Breakthrough Therapy designation and last year received Priority Review status from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). It is expected to become the first-in-industry drug to be launched in China ahead of Europe and the U.S., marking a China-first launch and filling the treatment gap for Chinese PNH patients. This represents a groundbreaking attempt by Roche, with multi-party support, to actively explore the "global first launch" pathway for innovative drugs in China to better serve Chinese patients. In the field of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, Roche will showcase Phesgo, the world’s first subcutaneous combination formulation targeting HER2 for breast cancer.® SymbolFor the first time, trastuzumab and pertuzumab, two monoclonal antibodies, have been combined into a single dose. The treatment for both drugs can be completed through a single subcutaneous injection that takes only 5-8 minutes, offering a shorter injection time and less invasiveness, significantly enhancing the treatment experience for breast cancer patients. Roche is committed to becoming a leader in the ophthalmology field and continues to invest in research, development, and innovation in this area, aiming to meet the unmet needs of patients with vision impairment. This year, Roche will introduce Faricimab, the world's first bispecific antibody for intravitreal injection. Its innovative mechanism effectively extends the duration of the drug’s action, stabilizes blood vessels, reduces fluid leakage, thereby improving patients' vision and achieving long-term disease control. With a long-standing focus on neuroscience, Roche will also present Ocrelizumab, the world’s first and only drug approved for treating both relapsing multiple sclerosis and primary progressive multiple sclerosis. Additionally, Roche will showcase interactive, digital, and tech-savvy experiential installations, including a 3D personalized healthcare experience center, a convenient injection experience module for breast cancer patients, an anti-influenza interactive zone, and a demonstration device for the mechanism of action in hematological tumors, providing an immersive display of Roche's continuous innovation and patient-centered achievements.
