The "Old Friend" of the CIIE Unveils a Century-Long Picture Scroll, with a Preview of the First Exhibition
Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the company's founding, Novo Nordisk will continue its theme of "Driving Change, Healthy China" at the exhibition. The booth design uses a "scroll" as a medium to depict a century-long timeline within an 800-square-meter booth, connecting the past and future, innovation and health, China and the world. This year, Novo Nordisk will showcase 12 innovative drugs in the diabetes and rare disease fields, 8 injection devices, and medical literature related to 3 new drugs.
Among them, four premieres were officially unveiled at the CIIE:

First Presentation of Clinical Study Results for the World’s First Once-Weekly Basal Insulin Icodec and Long-Acting Recombinant Factor VIII – Turoctocog Alfa Pegol
While bringing innovative premieres, Novo Nordisk also showcased its R&D progress across multiple disease areas globally and in China. In the field of diabetes, Novo Nordisk is further raising the bar for innovative diabetes treatment standards, focusing on combination formulations of once-weekly insulin and GLP-1 RA, glucose-responsive insulin, cell therapy, and other innovative drugs or research directions. Additionally, Novo Nordisk is venturing into new disease areas, with multiple clinical trials being prepared or conducted in obesity, hemophilia, growth disorders, and other severe chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney disease, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and Alzheimer's disease.
In addition, Novo Nordisk will also create an intelligent care experience center on-site for the first time. With four themed areas - "disease management, drug access, education, and health management" - it will authentically recreate patients' living scenarios. The exhibition will integrate the online management of internet hospitals, the "last mile" solution of insulin smart cold chain transportation, the AI-powered intelligent Q&A robot Teacher Xiao Nuo, and the NovoCare APP. A series of booth activities, including software releases and partnership signings, will also be held on-site to convey the concept of "smarter care, simpler health" from multiple dimensions, using digital technology to enhance patients' health management capabilities.
Riding the Fast Track of CIIE, "CIIE Babies" Grow at an Accelerated Pace
Over the past five years, several globally innovative products from Novo Nordisk have undergone a transformation from "literature - exhibits - commercial products." These "CIIE babies" have moved from the CIIE to a broader China, accelerating from market launch to inclusion in medical insurance, thereby serving more Chinese patients.
Among them, the world's first basal insulin GLP-1RA injection, NovoMix, was "approved and exhibited for the first time" at the 4th CIIE.®, which was included in the national medical insurance directory at the beginning of this year and has been implemented, helping patients with type 2 diabetes enter a new chapter of high-quality blood glucose management. The first smart insulin pen in China that can be connected and transmit data, exhibited at last year's CIIE.[i]NovoPen®6, has officially been launched in China, helping diabetes patients embark on a "smart blood sugar control" journey.
"The first exhibition" is just the starting point, and the transformation of "exhibits into products" landing in China is a strong manifestation of the spillover effects of the CIIE. To date, Novo Nordisk has introduced 18 innovative drugs and 10 innovative devices to China, and in just five years of participating in the CIIE, it has brought in 5 innovative drugs and 4 injection devices.
Novo Nordisk's Senior Vice President Global and President of Greater China, Zhou Xiaping, stated: "We deeply feel the innovative激励作用 and enormous spillover effects of the CIIE on the entire biopharmaceuticals industry. We have confidence in the CIIE and are firm in this choice. Over the past six years, we have continuously brought global innovative achievements to the CIIE and steadily upgraded our full industrial chain layout in China. Under the witness of the CIIE, Novo Nordisk has solidly fulfilled its commitment of 'In China, for China, In China, for global.' Next year marks the 30th year of the company's development rooted in China, and we are highly confident in the company's development in China. For this CIIE, we have also made meticulous preparations, looking forward to seizing opportunities again and reaching new heights at the CIIE."
