Sildenafil Orally Disintegrating Tablets See Further Price Cuts in China's National Drug Procurement, Dropping to Around RMB 10 per Tablet

Gelonghui November 6th | According to the STAR Market Daily, at the bidding site of the ninth batch of China's national drug volume procurement, it was learned that in the bidding for Citrate Sildenafil ODT (specification: 50mg), Qilu Pharmaceutical and Hebei Longhai quoted lower prices, with bids of 9.9 yuan/pill and 9.85 yuan/pill respectively. Kelun quoted 38.6 yuan/pill, while the original research bid was 74.5 yuan/pill. Sildenafil is a first-line medication for ED treatment, and the unique ODT formulation takes effect faster and does not require water for ingestion, making it more convenient to take. Pfizer originally launched the ODT new formulation in 2020, priced as high as 128 yuan per pill, yet it was still very popular in the market. Notably, in the third round of national procurement in 2020, Citrate Sildenafil had four companies competing: Pfizer, Guangzhou Baiyunshan, Qilu Pharmaceutical, and Yabang Aipusen. In the end, Qilu Pharmaceutical became the sole winning bidder, bringing this drug into the "two-yuan era."
