Johnson & Johnson Medical Technologies announced the departure of Ashley McEvoy, Global Executive Vice President of Johnson & Johnson and Global Chair of Johnson & Johnson Medical Technologies. Tim Schmid, Chairman of Johnson & Johnson Medical Technologies Asia-Pacific (APAC), will assume her position and join the company’s Executive Committee. Tim Schmid joined Johnson & Johnson in 1993. In 2009, Schmid became the Global Strategic Marketing Vice President of the Ethicon division and was promoted to President in 2012. Since 2018, Schmid has served as the Chairman of Johnson & Johnson Medical Technologies APAC, working at the Asia-Pacific headquarters located in Singapore.

Global healthcare technology leader Medtronic announced that Paolo Di Vincenzo will join the company on October 30 as President of the Neuromodulation business. Di Vincenzo has worked at Smith+Nephew for nearly 10 years, serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Wound Management in the United States. During his tenure, Di Vincenzo also held global marketing and leadership roles. Prior to joining Smith+Nephew, Di Vincenzo successively held various marketing leadership positions at Systagenix (formerly Acely), BD Medical, and Roche Diagnostics.
BD Medical
BD Appoints Greg Rodetis, Treasurer, as Head of Investor Relations. Greg will continue to serve as the company’s Treasurer and lead all aspects of communicating BD’s strategic progress to investors and the financial community, including the company's initiatives to drive shareholder value. Rodetis joined BD in 2016 as Vice President of Capital Markets and Assistant Treasurer. He currently serves as Treasurer, responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s treasury functions as a strategic partner supporting business performance, profitable growth, and shareholder returns. Prior to joining BD, Greg served as Assistant Treasurer at Terex Corporation, and before that, he held roles at PepsiCo and General Electric.

Lilly Announces Executive Leadership Transition on Official Website: Mike Mason, Executive Vice President and President of Lilly's Diabetes and Obesity Division, will retire at the end of 2023. Patrik Jonsson, currently Executive Vice President, President of Immunology, and President of Lilly USA, will succeed Mike Mason as Executive Vice President and President of Lilly's Diabetes and Obesity Division, effective January 1, 2024. At the same time, Patrik Jonsson will continue to serve as Executive Vice President and President of Lilly USA. Daniel Skovronsky, Chief Scientific Officer and President of Lilly Research Laboratories, will take over from Patrik Jonsson as President of Immunology at Lilly. Leigh Ann Pusey, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Lilly, has decided to leave the company at the end of 2023. Lilly also appointed David Hyman as Chief Medical Officer; Mark Genovese, Senior Vice President of Inflammation Development at Gilead Sciences and Emeritus Professor of Medicine/Immunology/Rheumatology at Stanford University, joined Lilly as Senior Vice President of Immunology Development; Jennifer Oleksiw will be promoted to Group Vice President and Global Chief Customer Officer.

Jane Grogan Officially Joins Biogen as Executive Vice President and Head of R&D.
Jane Grogan has nearly 20 years of leadership experience in biotechnology research. She worked at Genentech for 15 years, holding various senior positions in the fields of immunology and immuno-oncology, while also integrating strategies between early discovery research, clinical development, and business development. Jane Grogan has also served as the Chief Scientific Officer of Graphite Bio, a cell and gene editing company, and as the Chief Scientific Officer of Arsenal Bio, a T-cell therapy company.
Hui Zhi
Global healthcare company Viatris Inc. announced that its president, Rajiv Malik, will retire on April 1, 2024, and will no longer serve as a senior executive of the company. Malik, a nearly 40-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry, has been responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations since the establishment of Viatris, overseeing the company’s commercial business units, business development, medical affairs, information technology, quality functions, as well as research and development and operations. Prior to joining Viatris, he served as president of Mylan, joining the company after it acquired a controlling stake in Matrix Laboratories Limited in 2007, and served as CEO from 2005 to 2008. Malik will continue to serve on the Viatris board of directors.

Walgreens Appoints Tim Wentworth as CEO. On October 10, Walgreens Boots Alliance, a U.S. pharmacy chain operator, announced the appointment of Tim Wentworth as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 23.
Boehringer Ingelheim
Boehringer Ingelheim announced that Mr. Mohammed Tawil will succeed Dr. Pavol Dobrocky as President and CEO of Boehringer Ingelheim Greater China (mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) effective January 1, 2024. Mohammed Tawil currently serves as the President, CEO, and Head of the Human Pharma Business Unit for Boehringer Ingelheim's IMETA region (India, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa). Tawil joined Boehringer Ingelheim in 1995 as a pharmaceutical representative for the Jordan branch. Over the next two decades, he held key positions across the Near East, Middle East, and North Africa. In 2017, he moved to the company’s headquarters to serve as Regional Business Manager for the Human Pharma Division, overseeing China, Mexico, Brazil, and South America. Since 2020, he has been serving in his current role.

Olympus Appoints Dr. John de Csepel as Chief Medical Officer. John joins Olympus from Medtronic, where he served as the Global Regional Chief Medical Officer.Prior to this, he led the medical affairs teams at Barrx Medical and Covidien's surgical business. In addition to his management experience, he served as a volunteer battlefield surgeon for Médecins Sans Frontières from 2006 to 2014 and subsequently worked as a trauma surgeon in New York City on weekends.

GSK
GSK announced that Luo Yan, the former Western Regional Director of GSK's Respiratory Business Unit, has been promoted to the National Sales Head of GSK's Respiratory Business Unit in China, effective October 1, 2023.
Yu Jin Yi, Head of GSK China's Specialty Medicines Business, announced that Zhao Liang will serve as the Head of Multi-Channel Customer Engagement for the Specialty Medicines Division. He will be fully responsible for the implementation strategy of the national medical insurance policies for the Benlysta and Nucala product groups within the target markets. Zhao Liang has previously worked at Bayer and Johnson & Johnson, and joined GSK in 2010. He currently serves as the Regional Director of GSK China's Respiratory Business Unit.
Novo Nordisk
Zhou Xiaping, Global Senior Vice President of Novo Nordisk and President of Greater China, announced to employees that Gao Kun, Vice President of the Emerging Markets Division, has decided to retire from Novo Nordisk effective January 1, 2024. Gao Kun has worked at Novo Nordisk for 24 years, starting as a pharmaceutical representative and subsequently serving in roles such as Sales Manager, Regional Business Manager, Sales Director, and Regional Business Vice President. In January 2019, Gao Kun was appointed Vice President of the Emerging Markets Division.
Merck Germany
Merck announced that Yu Yuping will join Merck as the Vice President of China's Healthcare Business and Head of the Cardiovascular, Metabolic and Endocrine (CM&E) Division. Before joining Merck China, Yu Yuping worked at AstraZeneca China, holding positions such as Head of Channel Business, Head of Product Line for the Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Business Unit, and Executive Director of Marketing.

Ping An Good Doctor Medical Technology Co., Ltd. announced that Mr. Fang Weihao has resigned from his positions as Chairman of the Board, Executive Director, and Chief Executive Officer of Ping An Good Doctor, and will assume a new role in another position within the Ping An Group. The company's board has appointed Mr. Li Dou as the new Chairman of the Board, Executive Director, and Chief Executive Officer of Ping An Good Doctor. According to the announcement, Mr. Li Dou, 47, previously served as Special Assistant to the Chairman and General Manager of the Home Care Business Division at Ping An Life Insurance Company of China, Ltd. He joined Ping An Good Doctor as a Non-Executive Director in August 2023. Prior to this, Mr. Li held positions such as Vice President of Sales and General Manager of Demand for Mars Wrigley Confectionery (China) Co., Ltd.

Hisun Pharmaceuticals Appoints Mr. Xiao Weihong as Company President. In 1999, Xiao Weihong joined Pfizer China, holding positions such as Human Resources Director of Pfizer China and General Manager of the Commercial and Diversified Business Unit. In 2012, Xiao Weihong was appointed CEO of Hisun Pfizer, a joint venture between Hisun Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer. In March 2016, Xiao Weihong left Hisun Pfizer to join 3SBio as Chief Operating Officer. In September this year, Xiao Weihong resigned from his position as General Manager of 3SBio.
