On November 8, 2023, in Shanghai, China, Danaher Corporation and Shanghai Jinqiao (GROUP) Limited Company held a signing ceremony for the expansion project of Danaher's Shanghai R&D and Production Center (Jinqiao) in China.

This project covers two major business segments of Danaher: Life Sciences and Medical Diagnostics. It marks another new starting point for Danaher Group's "Creating and Elevating China 2.0" strategy, serving as a new carrier encompassing three strategic pillars of the "Creating and Elevating China" strategic flywheel—namely, localized manufacturing and supply chain, localized R&D, and localized commercialization. With a construction area of approximately 15,000 square meters, the project will also house Danaher Group’s brand exhibition, industry roadshows, technology transfer, and capacity building for life sciences platform R&D upon completion.

After the completion of this project, nearly 50% of the global production capacity of similar products within the group, represented by Leica Pathology, will be located in Pudong. Sixty percent of Leica Pathology’s products sold in China will be localized in China. Driven by the "Dual Innovation Acceleration Engines" of Danaher's "Innovate and Elevate China 2.0" strategy, the establishment of this center will serve to optimize Pudong's biopharmaceutical and healthcare industry structure and enhance Pudong's influence in the global biopharmaceutical and healthcare industry chain.

Guided by Danaher's new brand mission, "Life Never Stops, Innovation Never Stops," and leveraging the open and innovative policy environment of Pudong’s leading district, along with its rich research and clinical resources and advanced, diversified industrial system support, we will harness the synergistic value of the group. It will seamlessly integrate exquisite craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, expand the boundaries of research and development, and embark on a new chapter of innovation to better serve the Chinese and global markets.

Leica Biosystems Unveils HistoCore LIGHTNING S, a Locally Developed Laser Slide Labeling System, at the CIIE. Unlike traditional slide labelers, the HistoCore LIGHTNING S is a labeling system tailored for on-demand labeling workflows. Integrated with the Leica semi-automatic microtome HistoCore MULTICUT and the advanced Water Bath & Slide Dryer system, it forms a unique Leica slicing workstation. This new equipment layout, designed from a workflow perspective, enhances the histology lab’s slicing workflow and significantly improves slicing efficiency.
