Microfluidic chip, instrument, and reagent developer
Recently, DPBIO announced the completion of its Series B2 financing round, led by the intellectual property fund under Shanghai STVC Group. The proceeds will accelerate the global commercialization of several self-developed high-end life science instruments, enhance application efficiency across the entire workflow from drug discovery to synthetic biology R&D and production, and drive the integrated innovation of AI and biotechnology.
DPBIO was incubated at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and founded in 2018. Committed to providing world-leading life science tools, the company has established itself as a pioneering enterprise in droplet microfluidics in China. With the mission of building an internationally leading life science tools platform, DPBIO is dedicated to delivering efficient and reliable integrated solutions for global research and industrial clients. Currently, the company has established R&D, commercial, and production centers in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Jiashan, China, and operates a laboratory in San Diego, USA. Supported by an R&D team of nearly 100 professionals, DPBIO has built a comprehensive development and manufacturing system encompassing microfluidic chips, instruments, and reagents.
Focusing on the two core fields of drug discovery and synthetic biology, DPBIO has pioneered the development and commercialization of over ten products and supporting consumables—including the CytoSpark® High-throughput Antibody Screening System, High-throughput Microbial Screening System, OMNIdrop® All-in-One Droplet Microfluidic Analysis System, and Galaxy® Single-Cell Sequencing System—to address critical challenges across the R&D-to-production workflow. These products are widely used in antibody drug development, enzyme directed evolution, synthetic biology R&D, high-throughput screening, oncology research, early screening and precision therapy, non-invasive prenatal testing, viral quantification, and biopharmaceutical quality control, establishing a significant technological moat and a robust product matrix advantage.
Currently, DPBIO has provided products and technical support to over 200 leading global biopharmaceutical companies, synthetic biology firms, CXO service providers, renowned universities, and research institutions. The company has achieved multiple "first-of-its-kind" breakthroughs across various fields, with its technological capabilities and brand influence gaining widespread market recognition.
Based on its self-developed droplet microfluidic platform, DPBIO has established internationally leading high-throughput integrated solutions that are accelerating the transformation of R&D paradigms in drug discovery and synthetic biology. This technology enables the construction of tens of millions of microdroplet reaction units within minutes and completes the screening of tens of millions of samples in a single experimental run, overcoming the throughput limitations of traditional well-plate techniques. Compared to conventional methods, the system significantly shortens R&D cycles and reduces reagent consumption, bringing revolutionary advances to application scenarios with urgent high-throughput demands, such as drug discovery, enzyme evolution, and microbial resource mining and engineering.
Addressing the core needs of drug discovery and synthetic biology, the company has built a comprehensive product matrix covering the entire workflow from "sample preparation → high-throughput screening → functional validation → AI-powered optimization."
Drug Discovery
In the field of drug discovery, DPBIO has established a comprehensive product line covering the entire workflow from upstream immune cell preparation to downstream functional validation:
Magnetic-Activated Cell Sorting System: Enables efficient and precise sample preprocessing, ensuring the quality of subsequent screening processes.
CytoSpark® CSP Series High-Throughput Screening System: Capable of completing functional screening of millions of single B cells within a single day, significantly accelerating the antibody discovery timeline. The platform not only supports antibody development across multiple species including human, mouse, and rabbit, but also addresses diverse functional antibody screening requirements such as transmembrane targets, species cross-reactivity, blocking antibodies, agonist antibodies, and anti-idiotype antibodies. This provides a comprehensive solution for complex target and differentiated drug development.
Organoid Screening System: Serves as a high-fidelity model for toxicology and pathology validation of candidate antibodies, accelerating the preclinical validation process.
Through the synergistic deployment of these products, DPBIO provides global antibody drug developers with an end-to-end, one-stop solution spanning from "immune response activation → single-cell functional screening → candidate molecule validation."

Synthetic Biology
In the field of synthetic biology, DPBIO has similarly established a systematic product matrix to support end-to-end R&D in microbial and enzyme engineering:
CytoSpark® MSP Series High-Throughput Screening System: Capable of screening millions of mutant libraries within a single day, supporting multi-dimensional parallel optimization of activity, yield, and tolerance. This provides an efficient and cost-effective tool for directed enzyme evolution and metabolic pathway engineering.
Microbial Single-Cell Whole Genome Sequencing System: Leverages droplet microfluidic technology to explore microbial resources, enabling single-cell isolation and functional screening from samples. This accelerates the construction of a global microbial resource library and promotes innovation at the source for synthetic biology.
Other Next-Generation Innovative Products: These include a vision-based high-throughput droplet sorting system for label-free screening; a microbial culture and analysis system for high-throughput isolation and cultivation analysis of single bacteria; and bio-data functional island modules interfaced with automated workstations to enable unmanned operation and meet the demands of scaled data throughput.

In the wave of artificial intelligence rapidly permeating the life sciences industry, the core barrier is shifting from algorithm model construction to the ability to acquire high-quality, structured, and scalable biological data. DPBIO's high-throughput platforms can establish highly automated "bio-data functional islands" that continuously generate massive, standardized, and traceable biological process data. This provides a stable and reliable foundation for the training and validation of machine learning models, significantly enhancing the role of AI in scenarios such as drug discovery, protein design, and the predictive optimization in synthetic biology.
Looking ahead, the company will continue to explore collaborations with global AI-driven pharmaceutical and synthetic biology enterprises to jointly build next-generation intelligent biological R&D infrastructure and accelerate the implementation of a data-driven new paradigm for biotechnology.
DPBIO is determined to build a global life science brand originating from China, demonstrating the international competitiveness of "Intelligent Manufacturing from China." Since early 2025, the company has launched a systematic global strategy, establishing local technical, marketing, and support teams in Europe and America to respond more agilely to international market demands and engage more closely with user innovation scenarios.
To date, multiple DPBIO products have gained customer recognition in the North American market. The company has established in-depth collaborations with several internationally renowned pharmaceutical companies, universities, and biotech firms, achieving its first commercial order deliveries. Moving forward, DPBIO will continue to drive deeper expansion into key markets including Europe, America, Japan, and South Korea, accelerating its global commercial progress.
