After GE Healthcare became an independently listed brand in the healthcare sector, its Global President and CEO Peter Arduini made his first visit to the China market for an inspection. On the morning of the 15th, Peter, along with representatives of the GE Healthcare China management team, visited the Beijing Municipal People's Government and held talks with a group of leaders including Secretary Yin Li.

Secretary Yin Li pointed out in the meetingAs one of the key development areas in Beijing, the medical device industry is experiencing strong growth. GE Healthcare, a leading company in the medical equipment sector, hopes to further increase its investment in new technologies and products in Beijing, promote the industrialization of more precision healthcare products in the city, make full use of Beijing's innovative resources, strengthen cooperation and exchanges with local technology companies, research institutes, and clinical trial institutions, and drive high-quality development in the industry. The government will also actively provide support to help GE Healthcare achieve better development in Beijing.

"Beijing" holds extraordinary significance for GE Healthcare. In the early 1990s, GE's first joint venture in China, "Hangwei General," was established in Beijing, marking the beginning of high-end medical equipment manufacturing in China. Today, the GE Healthcare Beijing Imaging Equipment Manufacturing Base, formed by the merger of Hangwei General and the Hualun factory, has become a benchmark in China’s high-end medical device manufacturing industry. It has been designated as the "Beijing Medical Equipment Localization Demonstration Base" by the Economic-Technological Development Zone. The facility has achieved full localization of its entire range of imaging equipment—from the production of key CT detectors to advanced mobile X-ray machines, surgical machines, mammography units, and ultra-high-end 256-slice CT scanners—all manufactured in China. Every CT machine produced at the Beijing site is a result of collaboration with Beijing.
In the large health industry within the Beijing and Jing-Jin-Ji economic ecosystem, GE Healthcare has consistently been one of the most active and contributing enterprises. It has positively impacted the upgrading of the medical industry chain, the creation of world-class suppliers, and specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises.
