Recently, New York and London – Eyebiotech, a private clinical-stage ophthalmic biotechnology company dedicated to providing next-generation therapies for eye diseases, announced the successful completion of its Series A+ financing round, bringing the total funding to date to $130 million (with a $65 million Series A financing completed in February 2022). EyeBio will use the proceeds to accelerate the company’s clinical development programs and further build its innovative ophthalmic retina product pipeline.New investors Bain Capital Life Sciences, Omega Funds, and Vertex Ventures HC participated in this round of financing, which included follow-on investments from existing investors SV Health Investors, Jeito Capital, Samsara Biocapital, and MRL Ventures Fund.David Guyer, MD, CEO and Co-Founder of EyeBio, stated:"We are very excited about the potential of our pipeline and the progress we have made so far. EyeBio also announced the completion of enrollment for the multiple ascending dose (MAD) portion of the AMARONE trial, a Phase 1b/2a clinical study of Restoret in patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) and neovascular age-related macular degeneration (NVAMD). Restoret is an investigational, intravitreally delivered trispecific antibody that acts as an agonist of the Wnt signaling pathway.
