Henan Anyang Neihuang: Innovation Drives the Rise of a Thriving Rehabilitation Industry

On November 21, in the product exhibition hall of Xiangyu Medical Co., Ltd. in Neihuang County, Anyang City, Henan Province, a variety of rehabilitation devices were displayed. The exhibition hall covers an area of 3,000 square meters and showcases more than 600 products and over 1,000 models of rehabilitation equipment across five major categories and 20 series. The products cover areas such as rehabilitation assessment, training, and physical therapy within the rehabilitation medical device field.

In the exhibition hall, a comprehensive hand function rehabilitation training platform was showcased. "This device has 12 exercise modes, including palm grip, finger stretching, finger pinching, arm rotation, wrist flexion and extension, etc., which are particularly effective for hemiplegic patients. Moreover, the training on this device is combined with gaming to make the process more engaging," introduced Chen Ying, Operations Manager at Sunnyou.

Comprehensive Hand Function Rehabilitation Training Platform

Recently, the project "Key Technology Innovation and Equipment Development for Sports Injury Rehabilitation" completed by Sunnyou Medical, the 989th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, won the "First Prize of the 2023 Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award." This project optimized the rapid rehabilitation implementation plan for sports injuries before, during, and after surgery, forming an accelerated surgical rehabilitation system for sports injuries.

Sunnyou Medical was listed on the Sci-Tech Innovation Board in March 2021. During its development, it has continuously increased R&D efforts, closely collaborated with many well-known universities, scientific research institutes, medical institutions, and industry experts, and carried out industry-university-research cooperation to promote technological innovation in rehabilitation equipment. In 2022, R&D investment reached 18.92% of operating revenue, with nearly 500 R&D personnel, accounting for 25% of the company's total employees. Currently, it has obtained 312 medical device product registration certificates/filing certificates, participated in drafting 29 national or industry standards, recognized 119 provincial-level scientific and technological achievements, participated in or led more than 10 national and provincial-level scientific research projects, and currently holds over 1,500 valid patents.

As the industry continues to grow stronger and larger, Sunnyou Medical closely collaborates with upstream and downstream enterprises, attracting 45 companies to settle in the Rehabilitation Equipment Industrial Park, fostering a robust backbone for the rehabilitation equipment industrial cluster in Neihuang County.
