September 29, 2025, Hangzhou Shine Accelerator Medical Isotope Co., Ltd. ("Shine Accelerator"), a technology company dedicated to overcoming the supply bottlenecks of GMP-grade medical isotopes, announced the completion of its tens of millions of RMB Angel funding round. This round was participated in by Institute of Technology Innovation, Zhejiang University, BMC Capital, and Wuzhou Medical, with Lighthouse Capital serving as the exclusive financial advisor. The proceeds will primarily be used for core team expansion, advancement of technology R&D, and accelerating the commercialization of key products such as the alpha-emitting nuclide Ac-225.
Nuclear Nuclides, also known as radioisotopes, demonstrate unique advantages in disease diagnosis and treatment due to their precise radioactive properties, showing broad prospects for clinical application. Among various medical nuclides, α-nuclides are regarded as a pivotal direction for next-generation nuclear medicine therapeutics, owing to their exceptional targeted killing efficacy, high safety profile, and low toxicity. Taking Ac-225 (Actinium-225) as an example, its moderate half-life facilitates production, transportation, and stable conjugation with targeting molecules. In the field of oncology, Ac-225 has demonstrated outstanding application potential, particularly in achieving precise targeting and eradication of widely disseminated micro-metastases.
Shine Accelerator is committed to overcoming the supply bottlenecks of medical isotopes, aiming to establish a high-performance, high-efficiency, and replicable engineering system for nuclear isotope technology in China. Centered around the production of medical radioisotopes driven by electron accelerators, the company is constructing an integrated platform comprising "high-energy, high-current electron accelerators + high-power target station systems + GMP-grade separation and purification processes." This platform is designed to advance the large-scale preparation and engineering implementation of actinium-based and theranostic isotopes.
Leveraging its self-developed high-power electron linear accelerator system, the company has established precision target stations with high-power load capacity, rapid heat exchange structures, and short-range efficient cooling pathways. Combined with multi-stage separation and purification processes, this enables the stable production and stringent quality control of key isotopes such as Ac‑225, Cu‑67, Sc‑47, and Mo‑99. The entire system supports rapid target replacement, remote maintenance, and modular expansion capabilities, making it suitable for continuous operation scenarios and laying a solid hardware foundation for the large-scale mass production of isotopes like Ac-225.
Following the completion of this funding round, Shine Accelerator will further accelerate the construction of its production lines and technological iteration. The company will advance the commercial production and delivery of key isotopes such as Ac-225, supporting the high-quality and autonomous development of China's nuclear medicine diagnostics and therapeutics industry.
