Recently, Hengsai Bio, after completing tens of millions in financing last year, has successfully completed another billion-level Series A financing this year. This round of financing was led byRichway Venture CapitalLead investment,Qinzhi Capital, Kaiqi KangyingFollow-up Investment,Motai CapitalAct as the exclusive financial advisor.

Hengsai Biotech, founded in 2018, is an innovative technology enterprise dedicated to the research and development and industrialization of dendritic cell vaccines (DC vaccines). It is also a national high-tech enterprise. The company has successfully built the Eco-DCVax platform, aiming to break through industrialization technological barriers and develop high-quality DC vaccine products that are safe, efficient, convenient for administration, and have independent intellectual property rights as global First-in-Class solutions. The developed product—therapeutic dendritic cell vaccine—provides new treatment pathways and strategies for diseases that urgently need effective clinical treatments, such as recurrent and refractory tumors, chronic viral infections, and autoimmune diseases.

Hengsai Biotech's R&D center and pilot workshop located in Lanwan, Lingang, Shanghai, were officially put into use in 2021. A large-scale R&D/production base is currently under construction. The company has now established stable cooperative relationships with multiple domestic and international scientific research institutions and Class III hospitals. It is in the process of dual filing in China and the U.S., conducting clinical research and technical cooperation to comprehensively verify the clinical safety and efficacy of DC vaccines.

Currently, there are no DC vaccine products approved for marketing in China. Hengsai Biotech has established a comprehensive R&D platform and technical system for DC vaccines, including internationally leading technologies for DC cell separation and induction, tumor antigen selection and loading platforms, clinical trial-grade DC cell production centers, and quality control and management systems. Based on advanced overseas DC vaccine R&D experience, the company’s technology has been further improved to establish standardized and regulated DC vaccine production methods that are conducive to industrialization. The overall technical level is internationally leading, with multiple patented inventions, filling the gap in this field within China.
