First Conference on Innovative Development of General Practice Kicks Off: Digital Innovation Empowers High-Quality Growth of the General Practice Industry

With the continuous development of the socio-economy and the aggravation of population aging, the disease spectrum in China has undergone significant changes. Chronic diseases have become the main challenge to the health of the Chinese population, presenting a "four highs and one low" phenomenon: high incidence, high disability rate, high mortality, high healthcare expenditure, and low control rate, gradually becoming the primary "killer" threatening public health. For the large population suffering from common chronic diseases, the general practice medical service model, with its long-term, continuous, and systematic advantages, has become an important measure to meet the growing health needs of the people.

In recent years, with the rapid development of information technology and Internet technologies both in China and abroad, as well as the promotion and application of artificial intelligence in the medical and health field, grassroots medical and health institutions in China have made significant progress in management and application. Timely sharing and exchanging innovative practical experiences from all fields and elements of primary healthcare and general practice at home and abroad, promoting management innovation and intelligent development of grassroots medical institutions, holds profound significance for advancing the development and innovation of general practice.

Against this background,The First "General Practice Medical Innovation and Development Conference (Beijing)" (hereinafter referred to as: the Conference), guided by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and supported by enterprises such as AstraZeneca, jointly organized by the Beijing Community Health Association, the Chinese Community Health Association, the General Practitioner Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the School of General Practice Medicine and Continuing Education of Capital Medical University, and the Chinese Journal of General Practitioners, is about to officially open.

This conference brings together general practice medical experts, scholars and experts in this field, and related industry partners from within China. It also invites government department leaders, research institution scholars, clinical medical experts, grassroots community health service managers, and industry partners from the field of general practice medicine and community health both domestically and internationally (including from outside China's borders). Through keynote reports, academic discussions, experience sharing, and interactive exchanges, innovative solutions will be introduced to promote industrial interaction, strengthen collaboration between the medical and business sectors, and jointly explore ways to advance innovation practices in general practice medicine in China.
