Recently, AbbVie announced a research collaboration with BigHat Biosciences to discover and develop next-generation therapeutic antibodies in the fields of oncology and neuroscience. Working closely with AbbVie, BigHat will utilize its Milliner™ platform, a set of machine learning technologies integrated with high-speed wet labs, to guide the design and selection of high-quality antibodies for multiple therapeutic targets. Previously, the company had already established R&D collaborations with Merck and Amgen.Under the terms of the agreement, BigHat will receive a $30 million upfront payment and may be eligible for up to approximately $325 million in total R&D milestones, with the potential for additional commercial milestones and tiered royalties on net sales.
