Sanofi's TNFR1 Inhibitor SAR441566 Becomes First in China to Enter Clinical Development

On December 9, the CDE website showed that Sanofi's SAR441566 clinical trial application was accepted. This is the first TNFR1 inhibitor to be submitted for clinical trials in China. At the R&D day, Sanofi introduced that the peak sales potential of this product is expected to exceed 5 billion euros.

SAR441566 is an oral TNFR1 inhibitor that blocks the interaction between TNFα and TNFR1 by distorting the conformation of soluble TNFα trimers. However, this product does not affect the signal transduction of membrane-bound TNFα, which can better reduce the risk of infection and improve efficacy.
