Lilly China Announces Multiple Products (Including New Indications) Included in the 2023 National Reimbursement Drug List

Verzenio^®(Abemaciclib Tablets) is an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4 and 6, and it is currently the only CDK4 & 6 inhibitor approved globally and in China for three major indications: adjuvant treatment of high-risk early HR+, HER2- breast cancer, advanced endocrine-sensitive, and advanced endocrine-resistant.¹. Verzenio^®(Abemaciclib Tablets) were approved in China in December 2020 for two indications of advanced breast cancer, and were included in the National Medical Insurance Catalog in 2021. It is the first CDK4 & 6 inhibitor to be included in the National Medical Insurance Catalog. In December 2021, Verzenio^®(Verzenio) was approved for adjuvant treatment of early breast cancer and successfully expanded this indication this year to include HR+, HER2- lymph node-positive populations at high risk of recurrence. This time, Verzenio^®(Abemaciclib Tablets) HR+, HER2- lymph node-positive, high recurrence risk, and Ki-67≥20% early breast cancer adjuvant treatment has been included in the new National Medical Insurance Catalog for the first time. At the same time, the dual indications for advanced breast cancer have been successfully renewed, making it the only CDK4 & 6 inhibitor covered by national medical insurance for both early and advanced breast cancer populations in China, benefiting more Chinese breast cancer patients.

Tyvyt^®(Durvalumab Injection) is an innovative PD-1 inhibitor drug of international quality co-developed by Eli Lilly and Company and Innovent Biologics. Tyvyt^®(Sintilimab Injection) was approved in China in 2018 and currently has seven indications, covering squamous and non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric adenocarcinoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and classical Hodgkin's lymphoma, including five first-line indications.²Tyvyt^®(Daboshu, Sintilimab Injection) was included in the National Medical Insurance Catalog in 2019. This time, the seventh new indication has been successfully added to the National Medical Insurance Catalog for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer with positive EGFR gene mutations that have failed EGFR-TKI treatment.^®(Sintilimab Injection) is the world's first and only PD-1 inhibitor approved for this indication, and also becomes the only PD-1 inhibitor in China included in the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) for the treatment of EGFR-mutant lung cancer after TKI resistance. Ailut^®(Fruquintinib capsules) are a novel, highly selective small-molecule inhibitor of VEGFR1, 2, and 3, jointly developed by Eli Lilly and Company and Hutchison MediPharma. It is used for the treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who have previously received fluorouracil-based, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan-based chemotherapy, as well as those who have previously received or are unsuitable for anti-VEGF therapy and anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) therapy (RAS wild-type).³Eli Lilly's Aiyou Te® (Fruquintinib Capsules) was approved in China in 2018 and included in the National Reimbursement Drug List in 2019. This successful renewal will further improve patient access, benefiting more Chinese patients with advanced colorectal cancer.

Taltz^®(Ixekizumab Injection) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy and for adult patients with active ankylosing spondylitis who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy.⁴. Taltz^®(Eli Lilly's ixekizumab injection) was approved in China in August 2019, and was included in the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) in 2021. The recent successful renewal of its indication for plaque psoriasis, along with the new addition of ankylosing spondylitis to the NRDL, has further improved patient accessibility and affordability.
