China Finance Network December 14th — The "National Basic Medical Insurance, Work-related Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance Drug Catalog (2023)" was officially announced yesterday. The 2023 edition of the National Medical Insurance Catalog will be officially implemented starting from January 1, 2024.
Among them, seven innovative drugs from Janssen received good news, including the inclusion of DARZALEX (daratumumab injection) for first-line treatment of multiple myeloma and STELARA (ustekinumab injection) for pediatric and adolescent psoriasis indications in the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL); successful renewal of DARZALEX for second-line and later treatment of multiple myeloma, STELARA for adult psoriasis and adult Crohn's disease indications, as well as five other products originally in the NRDL.
To date, of the 33 innovative drugs that Janssen has launched in China, 30 have been included in the National Medical Insurance Catalog, fully covering therapeutic areas such as oncology, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, infectious diseases and vaccines, and pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Janssen China President Huang Chen expressed delight at the inclusion of the first-line treatment indication for multiple myeloma with Megakary and the pediatric and adolescent psoriasis indication for Stelara. He believes this will offer patients more innovative and convenient treatment options, further improving their quality of life.
