Zhigen Pharmaceutical completes RMB 70 million financing

On September 19, 2025, Shanghai Zhigen Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. announced the completion of RMB 70 million in financing.

This round of financing was jointly invested by Hunan Queshan Tiaowang Venture Capital, Hongfu Investment, and others. The funds will be mainly used to advance the clinical project of the company's core product ZG-001, expand the R&D pipeline, and further improve the construction of the small molecule drug creation platform.

Zhigen Pharmaceutical is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the research and development of small-molecule innovative drugs. It centers on the field of severe mental illnesses, while also paying close attention to therapeutic areas such as autoimmune diseases and oncology. The company boasts an experienced R&D team and a comprehensive technology platform. Its drug candidates ZG-001 and ZG-002 have entered the clinical stage, and are expected to provide new solutions for unmet clinical needs in the future.

The company's core product, ZG-001, is a Class 1 innovative drug with a novel structure and independent intellectual property rights, intended for the treatment of indications such as major depressive disorder with suicidal ideation or behavior (MDSI) and treatment-resistant depression (TRD). Preclinical studies have shown that ZG-001 exerts rapid and long-lasting antidepressant effects by activating the BDNF-TrkB signaling pathway.

In 2023, ZG-001 obtained clinical trial approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), and the clinical research is currently advancing in an orderly manner. After this round of financing, Zhigen Pharmaceutical will focus on advancing the clinical trials of ZG-001 while accelerating the research and development of subsequent pipeline compounds.
