Recently, Catug Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Catug") and Bo sheng ji medicine science and technology (suzhou) co., LTD (hereinafter referred to as "Bo Sheng Ji") officially announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement, and the two parties will carry out mRNA-LNP delivery on a global scale. In vivoCutting-edge technology collaboration in (in vivo) CAR-T therapy aims to significantly reduce the production costs of traditional CAR-T therapies, enhance their accessibility, and benefit more patients. Representatives from both companies in attendance included Dr. Wang Xiao, co-founder and CEO of Catug Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and Dr. You Fengtao, Dean of the New Drug Research Institute at Bo Sheng Ji Medicine Science and Technology (Suzhou) Co., LTD.

In recent years, CAR-T therapy has gained significant attention due to its remarkable efficacy, becoming the "star therapy" in the field of cancer treatment. As of November 2023, there are 10 CAR-T therapies on the global market, four of which are available in China. The number of CAR-T clinical studies in China has exceeded 655, and the industry is developing rapidly. However, limited by the patient-specific production model, expensive raw materials such as viral delivery vectors, lengthy production processes, and high research and development costs, the price and production cycle of autologous CAR-T therapies remain high, severely limiting patient accessibility.
In vivo generation of CAR-T therapy via mRNA-LNP delivery of CAR has demonstrated exciting efficacy in animal models. The mRNA-LNP delivery technology, with its advantages in cost and safety, is expected to significantly reduce the cost and production cycle of CAR-T therapy. However, challenges such as LNP patent restrictions, immune cell targeting, control of high-dose mRNA immunogenicity, dose-response relationship studies, and large-scale GMP production remain urgent issues for the industry to address.
Catug Biotechnology and Bo Sheng Ji Medicine Science and Technology (Suzhou) Co., LTD, based on their understanding of the development of the mRNA and CAR-T industries, have proactively initiated research on In vivo CAR-T therapy mRNA solutions. The strategic cooperation between Catug Biotechnology and Bo Sheng Ji will further solidify their collaborative foundation, fully leverage the complementarity of their technologies, continuously overcome technical challenges, and jointly develop an integrated mRNA-LNP solution for In vivo CAR-T therapy.
