Small Molecule Therapy Developer
Oncology Drug Research, Development, and Manufacturing
Remix Therapeutics today announced a collaboration and licensing agreement with Roche that could exceed $1 billion in total. The two companies will leverage Remix's REMaster drug discovery platform to discover and develop small molecule therapies that modulate RNA processing.

RNA processing is a strictly regulated mechanism of gene transcription, 5' capping, polyadenylation, alternative splicing, and protein expression. In disease states, this mechanism may become dysregulated through genetic and non-genetic means.
Remix Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing novel small-molecule therapies aimed at reprogramming RNA processing to treat diseases.Remix's proprietary REMaster platform is designed to understand multiple steps of the RNA processing cascade to discover and modulate targets, and to use small molecules to regulate these RNA sequences to control gene expression.

According to the terms of the agreement,Remix Therapeutics will receive a $30 million upfront payment and is eligible for up to $12 million in near-term milestone payments, as well as up to $1 billion in tiered preclinical, clinical, commercial, and sales milestone payments.Roche will have exclusive rights to specific targets. Remix will conduct discovery and preclinical activities with Roche, who will be responsible for the development and commercialization of any final product.
