Backed by $800M Avenzo deal, VelaVigo's bispecific ADC VBC103 gains NMPA IND acceptance

On September 18, according to China's CDE website, VelaVigo's Nectin-4/TROP2 bispecific antibody-drug conjugate VBC103 has submitted an Investigational New Drug (IND) application and obtained acceptance from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

Last November, this ADC was out-licensed to Avenzo Therapeutics for $800 million for rights outside of China. The company stated at the time that it planned to submit IND applications in both China and the U.S. by 2025, and this achievement now marks a significant milestone.

According to a press release issued by the company on September 3, its partner Avenzo Therapeutics has also received FDA IND approval for the asset.
