Beijing News (Reporter Wang Kala) On January 5, Wuxu Data released the 2023 drug registration acceptance data. In the past year, the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) accepted a total of 16,810 application numbers, representing a year-on-year increase of 37.3%. Among them, there were 11,825 chemical drugs, 2,213 biologics, and 2,762 traditional Chinese medicines.


From the perspective of enterprises, CHIATAI TIANQING and Hengrui Pharma lead with over a hundred accepted applications each, at 148 and 143 respectively. Qilu Pharmaceutical and Kelun follow closely behind with 99 and 90 respectively. AstraZeneca, Fosun Pharma, Chengdu Bright Future Pharmaceutical, Eli Lilly, Lunan Pharmaceutical, and CSPC also rank within the TOP10 for the number of accepted applications.


In terms of new chemical drugs, CHIATAI TIANQING and Hengrui Pharma have the most, followed by AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, Boehringer Ingelheim, Fosun Pharma, BeiGene, Hansoh Pharma, Hisun Pharmaceutical, and CSPC.


In terms of generic drugs, Kelun Pharmaceutical, Qilu Pharmaceutical, and Chengdu Better Pharmaceutical ranked in the top three.


In terms of biologics, Hengrui Pharma ranks first with 48 acceptances, followed by Novo Nordisk, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and Roche taking the second to sixth places. After them are Junshi Biosciences, Akeso Biopharma, and CHIATAI TIANQING.


In terms of traditional Chinese medicine, Kanion Pharmaceutical ranks first with 7 accepted applications, while China Resources Sanjiu, Conba, Yiling Pharmaceutical, Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical, and Shineway Pharmaceutical each have 4 accepted applications, tying for second place.
