Medtronic Receives FDA Approval for Percept RC Deep Brain Stimulation System

SmartCom APP learned that Medtronic (MDT.US) stated in a declaration that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the company's Percept RC Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) system.

According to Medtronic, this rechargeable neurostimulator is the latest innovation in the Medtronic Percept series, which includes the Percept PC neurostimulator, BrainSense technology, and SenSight directional leads.

The company pointed out that the Percept series is the only DBS system on the market with sensing capabilities, allowing doctors to provide personalized treatment for patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and epilepsy.
