The "Special Report on the Sixth National Health Service Statistical Survey" shows that the number of people with chronic diseases in China has exceeded 400 million, with an incidence rate of over 34% among those aged 15 and above, and over 60% among those aged 65 and above. Due to the long treatment duration of chronic diseases, medication management for chronic conditions faces numerous challenges, especially for middle-aged and elderly patients, making it even more difficult. Not only are issues like forgetting or missing doses, repeated medication, and a lack of disease and care knowledge common, but there is also difficulty in accessing convenient, timely follow-ups and prescription renewals. To address these medication pain points, Tencent Healthcare has transformed WeChat’s "Scan" feature for medicine boxes into a health medicine cabinet. Relying on Tencent Medical Encyclopedia's objective and in-depth disease education, as well as tools for medication management and health records, combined with cutting-edge digital technologies such as the latest medical large models and blockchain traceability, it provides patients with a one-stop platform for medication information and services.

According to a user survey conducted by Tencent Healthcare's medicine cabinet, nearly 50% of users who focus on diabetes and cardiovascular disease medication services are over 50 years old. Features such as medication reminders, disease education, and finding nearby pharmacies are the "most popular." In contrast, in the respiratory asthma field, there is a trend toward younger users, with the 25 to 49 age group accounting for 50%. Disease education and medication guidance have become essential needs for users.

In medication scenarios, Tencent Healthcare Medicine Box utilizes WeChat's "Scan" function to provide patients with one-stop services for medication, drug inquiry, and drug purchase, including drug verification traceability, drug information and instruction queries, medication reminders, medication guidance, health management, and more. For example, the "medication reminder" can remind patients to take their medicine on time every day, while the "drug instructions" offer a built-in magnifying glass for reading the drug information. Additionally, a voice broadcast feature for drug instructions has been designed, along with an AI-powered digital human providing medication guidance. This not only broadcasts the drug instructions but also allows the digital pharmacist to interact with patients, answering questions in real-time. These features respond to the national policy outlined in the "Drug Instruction Accessibility and Barrier-Free Reform Pilot Work Plan," addressing challenges such as insufficient patient understanding of drugs and high barriers to proper medication usage.

In popular science scenarios, Tencent Healthcare Medicine Cabinet provides scientific, authoritative, and easy-to-understand disease-related information, allowing patients to promptly access more professional knowledge about medicines, diseases, diet, exercise, and daily management. It also offers diversified disease education content, including images, comics, videos, health quizzes, etc., and sends updates via WeChat reminders, further enhancing users' health awareness.

In the health management scenario, refined health management services are provided based on disease characteristics, supporting tools such as medical insurance information inquiries, online consultations, online registration, and health monitoring, to offer patients more efficient, convenient, and essential health services, achieving full-cycle scientific and standardized self-health management.

Tencent Healthcare collaborates with pharmaceutical companies to create a "Medicine Box as a Service" smart medication model. By utilizing digital technology, the traditional medication process is optimized and upgraded. Patients can access services by scanning a WeChat QR code, enhancing medication safety and satisfaction.
