| On January 16, 2024, Illumina, Inc., the global leader in gene sequencing and chip technology, reached a cooperation agreement with Gloriousmed. Focusing on the field of pathogen detection for urinary tract infections, the two parties will combine their technical advantages and professional resources to promote the application and development of precision diagnostic solutions for Urinary Pathogens/Resistance Genes Detection (UPIP), enabling faster, more accurate, and comprehensive identification of urinary tract pathogens and resistance genes.
Maisy Ma, Vice President of Sales at Illumina China and Acting General Manager of Greater China, stated"Gloriousmed has accumulated rich clinical experience in the field of urological diseases. I look forward to both parties launching products that meet the needs of the Chinese market and Chinese patients as soon as possible, better addressing unmet medical needs, and further advancing the development of precision medicine in China."
Gloriousmed Founder and CEO Jin Ge stated:"Gloriousmed has been deeply engaged in urology for eight years, providing integrated precision diagnosis and treatment solutions for tens of millions of patients with urological diseases. The detection of urinary pathogens is of great significance for the early discovery and treatment of urological diseases. As a leader in gene sequencing technology, through this collaboration with Illumina, we will combine our strengths to jointly promote the precision, efficiency, and popularization of urinary pathogen testing."

Urinary tract infections are one of the most common infections, affecting 150 million people worldwide each year. Currently, pathogen culture is the standard diagnostic method for urinary tract infections. Due to the widespread use of antibiotics and the increasing drug resistance of pathogens, clinical diagnosis demands faster, more accurate, and specialized identification of pathogens. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, as an emerging pathogen detection method, enables more rapid and comprehensive detection of pathogenic microorganisms. With the introduction of targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS), in addition to being fast and comprehensive, tNGS allows for more specific detection of different infection syndromes with higher sensitivity, more controllable costs, superior drug resistance detection, and easier interpretation of results.

Regarding Urinary Tract Pathogens/ Drug Resistance Gene Detection (UPIP) UPIP is a targeted sequencing test kit for urinary pathogens/drug-resistance genes developed by Illumina, Inc. This product can detect 174 pathogenic microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites, with features such as broad pathogen spectrum coverage, higher detection sensitivity, drug resistance indication, and quantitative analysis capabilities.
