LifeShield Medical Opens China Headquarters and Interventional Artificial Heart System Factory in Suzhou

On the afternoon of January 18, the China headquarters of LifeShield and the factory of LifeShield’s interventional artificial heart system officially opened in Suzhou Industrial Park. Liu Hua, member of the park’s working committee and deputy director of the management committee, Cao Guofen, deputy director of the city’s Commerce Bureau, Chen Zulin, CEO of LifeShield, and others attended the event.

LifeShield Medical Group is a Sino-German multinational medical device enterprise dedicated to the research, development, and production of innovative medical devices in the field of internationally advanced extracorporeal life support technologies. With a professional scientific research and engineering team, along with years of industry experience and technical accumulation, the company has launched multiple innovative medical technology solutions, providing critical support for improving patients' quality of life.

Relying on the industrial ecosystem that integrates talent, capital, technology, and platforms built within the park, Lifeshield Medical Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. has successfully settled into the park. It is positioned as the Asia-Pacific and China headquarters of Lifeshield Medical Group, responsible for local innovation and R&D in China, global production bases, and the expansion of the Asia-Pacific market. The park's policy-driven investment platform actively participates through equity investment, promoting the project’s development.

The factory for LifeShield's interventional artificial heart system, which opened at the same time, is located in the Sino-Singapore Xingwan Industrial Park, with a construction area of approximately 5,000 square meters. The clean room was built according to ISO13485 and Class 10,000 GMP standards. As the global production base for LifeShield's new generation of interventional artificial heart systems, it has an annual production capacity of 5,000 interventional heart pumps and 300 interventional heart device mainframes.

Ulrich Steinseifer, Director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute at RWTH Aachen University and Chief Scientific Officer of LifeShield, stated in his speech that thanks to the close cooperation with the park, the China headquarters and new factory of LifeShield Medical Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. have successfully been established in the park. This marks that the team's research and development and production have entered an accelerated phase. The company will strive to transform globally leading technologies into products, promoting domestically innovative medical products with better efficacy and lower prices to the global market, benefiting more patients.
