On January 17, Comanche Biopharma announced the completion of a $75 million Series B financing round. Comanche Biopharma is dedicated to developing RNAi therapies for preeclampsia. The company's lead RNAi candidate, CBP-4888, consists of two siRNAs targeting (sFLT1) mRNA subtypes produced by the placenta. By reducing the sFLT1 protein produced by the placenta, it lowers the levels of sFLT1 protein in maternal blood. CBP-4888 has the potential to improve symptoms of preeclampsia, including high blood pressure and organ damage to kidneys and liver, and may safely extend pregnancy duration.
