On January 22, AC Immune announced that it had terminated the cooperation agreement with Genentech, a subsidiary of Roche, and regained all rights to Crenezumab and Semorinemab.

In addition, AC Immune will regain the clinical trial rights for existing GMP drugs, as well as the relevant research data generated under each agreement. AC Immune will carefully review and evaluate the available datasets, including the results from the open-label extension study of the Lauriet trial. After completing the data review, AC Immune will thoughtfully consider its next steps.

Crenezumab (Crenezumab) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits Aβ, designed to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease by neutralizing neurotoxic β-amyloid oligomers; Semorinemab is an anti-Tau monoclonal antibody that targets the N-terminal portion of the Tau protein, aiming to bind to Tau and reduce its spread between neurons.

Previously, these two products had repeatedly failed in the Alzheimer's disease field:

1) Phase III CREAD 1 Study: Compared with the placebo group, the total CDR-SB score of patients in the Crenezumab group did not significantly decrease (P=0.63);

2) Phase III CREAD 2 Study: No Significant Changes in Alzheimer's Disease-Related Biomarker Levels;

3) Phase II TAURIEL Study: Compared with the placebo group, the total CDR-SB score of patients in the Semorinemab group did not significantly decrease (2.41 vs. 2.19 points).
