Former Boston Scientific China VP Laura Zang Joins Medtronic as Commercial Vice President for Surgical Business in China

Recently, Medtronic announced the appointment of a new Commercial Vice President for China in its Surgical Operations division. She is Laura Zang Jing, currently the Assistant Vice President at Boston Scientific and the business head of its Cardiac Intervention Division.

Laura's career began at Lingfeng Pharmaceutical, starting as a representative, then moving to Jiangsu.Kangyuan Pharmaceutical, Xi'an Janssen, Bayer and other pharmaceutical companies. Before serving as the IC Business Leader at Boston Scientific, he also held positions as the Business Leader and Marketing Leader for the Urology & Pelvic Health and Peripheral Interventions & Oncology businesses. He is a model example of a frontline professional manager who has advanced through the ranks.

During her tenure as the IC head of Boston Scientific, Laura formulated a differentiated strategy for the company's interventional cardiology business to address the ever-changing market conditions.VBP, DRG/DIP and other external environments, optimized the product portfolio, accelerated the release of localized products, developed various business models, established platform empowerment, and strengthenedChannel StrategyCollaboration, etc., to enhance the headquarters' confidence in the China region.

Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and a Master's degree in Medical Biochemistry from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, as well as an EMBA degree from CEIBS.

It is reported that Laura will officially join Medtronic on January 30, directly reporting to Yu Jing, Vice President of Medtronic, General Manager of China Orthopedics & Neurosurgery Business and Surgical Business, and will join the Global Surgical Leadership Team and the Greater China Executive Committee.

Meanwhile, rumors suggest that Laura's successor is about to be confirmed and it may be a rather special candidate.
