This flexible cystoscope is a product developed by Taiwan's Medimaging Integrated Solution, Inc., and has previouslyReceived FDA approval in October 2023, now handed over to Boston Scientific forExclusive Sale。

This cystoscope system is paired with a 14-inch tablet to display high-resolution images and videos, providing real-time visualization of the lower urinary tract without the need for additional equipment.

For this product, Boston Scientific statedDisposable productsHelps reduce the likelihood of postoperative infections (such as urinary tract infections), as reusable cystoscopes can easily cause infection problems if not properly sterilized. # Flexible Cystoscope VS Rigid Cystoscope

In contrast to the flexible cystoscope is the rigid cystoscope, which cannot bend. The male urethra is a muscular tube with two curves, so if a rigid cystoscope is used for examination, not only does it take longer and cause more damage, but it also comes with significant pain (some patients have described it as "feeling like they’ve died once"), and there may be blind spots in vision.

Flexible cystoscopes, due to their soft body, thin diameter, and bendability, offer numerous advantages:

Alleviate Pain: It hardly causes any damage to the urethra and bladder, greatly reducing the risk of bleeding and intense pain;

Varied Positions: When using rigid cystoscopy, patients can only be placed in the lithotomy position. However, when using flexible cystoscopy, in addition to the lithotomy position, patients can also be placed in the lateral or supine position, which is particularly meaningful for patients with quadriplegia, paraplegia, or severe arthritis.

Easy to operate: Generally, a 0° straight-viewing lens is used when examining the urethra, while a 30°-120° side-viewing lens is required for bladder examination. Therefore, when using a rigid cystoscope to examine the bladder and urethra, it is often necessary to disassemble and reassemble components, switching to different angled lenses to observe various parts of the bladder and perform intracavitary procedures. However, these drawbacks do not exist when using a flexible cystoscope.

Avoid Blind Spots: Due to the limitation of the viewing angle, there are certain blind spots in the bladder with rigid cystoscopes. Flexible cystoscopes overcome this shortcoming; they can observe the urethra when inserted under direct vision. In the bladder, flexible cystoscopes can bend upward by 220° and downward by 90°, increasing the viewing range and avoiding blind spots during examination.
