According to the latest statistics from the World Health Organization's cancer research agency, in 2020, China had the highest number of new cancer cases and cancer-related deaths globally, reaching 4.57 million and 3 million, respectively.[1]。To effectively reduce the disease burden of cancer and improve the survival rate of cancer patients, the national level highly values the early screening and early diagnosis of cancer. The "Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline clearly proposes the strategic goal of increasing the overall 5-year cancer survival rate by 15% by 2030. It requires strengthening cancer screening and early detection, carrying out early diagnosis and treatment work for key cancers in high-incidence areas, promoting opportunistic cancer screening, and gradually incorporating suitable technologies for early cancer diagnosis and treatment into routine clinical practice.[2]。The latest released "Healthy China Action - Cancer Prevention and Treatment Action Implementation Plan (2023-2030)" further emphasizes the promotion of early diagnosis and treatment of cancer, strengthening long-term mechanisms, improving and promoting guidelines for early diagnosis and treatment of key cancers, advancing early screening and treatment of cancer, building a tiered cancer screening system, continuously conducting organized screenings in high-incidence areas and high-risk populations, and continuously increasing the early diagnosis rate of key cancer types in high-incidence areas.[3]。As cancer diagnosis and treatment methods become increasingly diverse, moving towards chronic disease management, the importance of "shifting the focus of cancer prevention and control forward" has become more prominent.
