Today, VantAI announced a strategic collaboration with Bristol-Myers Squibb to jointly discover new molecular glues targeting certain therapeutic targets. This collaboration leverages VantAI's geometric deep learning capabilities and Bristol-Myers Squibb's expertise in targeted protein degradation to discover and develop new small molecule therapies.

This collaboration will focus on leveraging VantAI's generative artificial intelligence platform to design molecular glues as small-molecule therapies. VantAI’s technology utilizes geometric deep learning to generate insights from millions of years of naturally occurring, evolving protein interfaces, allowing such interfaces to be mimicked during the design process. This "Protein Contact First (PCF)" approach simplifies the complex chemical design challenge of bringing proteins together in cells, yielding a more "glue-like" solution., and has optimized parameters, including efficacy, selectivity, and molecular size.
According to the agreement,VantAI is eligible to receive up to $674 million from Bristol-Myers Squibb in discovery, development, clinical, regulatory, and sales milestone payments., and can choose to further expand to other treatment programs.
The field of molecular glue has grown significantly in the past few years. Last year, Roche signed several related cooperation agreements, including a collaboration with Monte Rosa Therapeutics to target difficult-to-drug targets and through its...SubsidiaryGenentech's Molecular Glue Development Agreement with Orionis Biosciences. Additionally, MSD has also entered into a molecular glue development collaboration with Austrian biotech company Proxygen, which had previously collaborated with Boehringer Ingelheim and Merck KGaA.
