Xinhua News Agency, Beijing (Reporter Zhang Zhaohui) — On February 16, Lunan Pharmaceutical announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the application of Shandong New Time Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to add 30mg and 60mg specifications for its Isosorbide Mononitrate Sustained-Release Tablets, granting the product marketing authorization in the United States.
Isosorbide Mononitrate Sustained-Release Tablets are used for the treatment of coronary heart disease, mixed angina pectoris, and myocardial infarction. They are rapidly and completely absorbed orally, with no liver first-pass effect. The brand name of Lunan Pharmaceutical's Isosorbide Mononitrate Sustained-Release Tablets is "Xin Kang", which was approved for marketing in China in 2002 and received the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2007.
Lunan Pharmaceutical stated that the approval and launch of this product in the U.S. indicate that the quality of Xinkang has reached international high-end standards.
