Intelligent Finance APP News, C-MER Medical (03309) announced that as part of the cross-border medical cooperation under the 2023 Policy Address of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSAR Government), the HKSAR Government announced on February 19, 2024, that Shenzhen Aikangjian Stomatological Hospital (Shenzhen Aikangjian Hospital) has been included as one of the seven medical institutions under the "Elderly Healthcare Voucher Greater Bay Area Pilot Scheme" (Pilot Scheme). It is also the only dental hospital covered by the Pilot Scheme providing dental services under the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area) elderly healthcare voucher. Approximately 1.7 million eligible Hong Kong elders are expected to benefit from the Pilot Scheme.

In the process of selecting pilot program medical institutions in the Greater Bay Area, the Hong Kong government has considered eight major factors, namely geographical location, service quality, management and operational experience, scope of services, service capacity, fee standards and levels, basic understanding of the operation of the Elderly Healthcare Voucher Scheme, and whether there are advantageous services.

Elderly individuals aged 65 or above who meet the required criteria are eligible to receive and use medical vouchers to pay for private primary healthcare and dental services. Currently, each eligible individual is issued HKD 2,000 in medical vouchers annually.

The company is deeply honored to participate in the program and hopes that this will improve the medical services available to the elderly in the Greater Bay Area and promote their well-being, thereby achieving the goal of advancing primary healthcare and disease prevention for the aging population in Hong Kong, China.

In addition, on February 5, 2024, the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Luohu District Government of Shenzhen for the construction of the Luohu Port Hong Kong-style port hospital.

The hospital is only a five-minute walk from the Luohu Port land border station, and is expected to become the first port hospital to adopt Hong Kong-style medical services. It will bring Hong Kong-style medical management systems, medical technologies, and medical services to residents of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, enhance the exchange of medical talents and technologies between mainland China and Hong Kong, and promote the deep integration and vigorous development of both regions.

According to the group's current plan, the hospital will have departments such as dentistry, ophthalmology, medical imaging, health check-up, gynecology, traditional Chinese medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and urology, with plans to introduce more departments in the future. The hospital will operate in a seven-story building with a total floor area of over 10,000 square meters. Including Shenzhen Aikangjian Hospital, the group’s total operational floor area near the Luohu Port is expected to be nearly 20,000 square meters. The hospital is expected to begin operations around July 2024.

The Group expects that the establishment and operation of the hospital will drive the growth of its business and operations in the Greater Bay Area, set new precedents and benchmarks in the development of high-quality cross-border medical services, and enable patients in need in mainland China to access Hong Kong-style medical services more quickly.
