AbbVie and Tentarix Biotherapeutics Announce Multi-Year Collaboration to Discover and Develop Conditionally Active Multispecific Biotherapeutic Candidates in Oncology and ImmunologyThis collaboration will combine AbbVie's expertise in oncology and immunology with Tentarix's proprietary Tentacles platform.

Tentarix's proprietary platform, Tentacles, is capable of developing multifunctional, conditionally active antibody-based biologics designed to activate immune cells to modulate signaling pathways that cause disease, while potentially alleviatingNon-specific targetingSafety issues related to other immune cells.

According to the terms of the agreement,Tentarix Biotherapeutics will receive upfront payments totaling $64 million from AbbVie for these two projects.AbbVie will gain exclusive options to fully acquire these programs after Tentarix nominates candidate drugs, and will pay an undisclosed additional fee for each program.

Tentarix Biotherapeutics also partnered with Gilead Sciences last August to co-develop three biologics for inflammatory diseases and oncology. Weeks later, Tentarix announced the completion of a $35 million Series B financing round led by Amplitude Ventures, with participation from Gilead, Versant Ventures, and Samsara BioCapital.
