Recently, Frontier Medicines announced the completion of an oversubscribed $80 million Series C financing. This round was co-led by Deerfield Management Company and Droia Ventures, with significant participation from strategic investor Galapagos NV. New and existing investors, including DCVC Bio, MPM Capital, and RA Capital Management, also participated in this financing. This Series C financing will be used for the clinical development of its potential "first-in-class" KRAS G12C inhibitor FMC-376 and other pipeline programs.

FMC-376 is an investigational oral KRAS G12C small molecule inhibitor that can simultaneously target KRAS proteins in both active (ON) and inactive (OFF) states., This therapy has been used in a variety ofKRAS G12C mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), pancreatic cancer, and colorectal cancer models, as well as NSCLC brain metastasis models, have demonstrated in vivo efficacy, with expectations to enhance clinical efficacy and prolong the time to resistance development.FMC-376's unique dual mechanism of action has the potential to overcome the current issues of low response rates and drug resistance associated with KRAS G12C inhibitors.
FMC-376 was discovered through the company's proprietary Frontier platform. Previously published preclinical data indicates,Compared with the previous generation of single-action inhibitors, FMC-376 is more than 1,000 times more effective in blocking the interactions of key effector proteins., which can rapidly and durably inhibit the signaling of the KRAS G12C protein.

The proceeds from this financing will be used to support Frontier Medicines' multiple wholly-owned pipeline projects entering clinical research, including FMC-376. Frontier recently announced,The first patient has been dosed in the PROSPER Phase 1/2 clinical trial, which aims to evaluate the efficacy of FMC-376 in treating cancer patients with tumors carrying the KRAS G12C mutation.
Dr. Chris Varma is the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Frontier Medicines. Prior to co-founding Frontier Medicines, he co-founded Blueprint Medicines and served as its president and chief executive officer; he is also a co-founder of Warp Drive Bio.
