AbbVie and OSE Immunotherapeutics announced today the establishment of a strategic partnership toDevelopment of OSE-230, a Potential “First-in-Class” Monoclonal Antibody Aimed at Addressing Chronic and Severe InflammationAccording to the agreement, OSE Immunotherapeutics may receive upfront and milestone payments exceeding 700 million US dollars.

Persistent inflammation is a hallmark of all chronic inflammatory or autoimmune diseases, which, if left uncontrolled or unresolved, may lead to further tissue damage, cause tissue fibrosis, and ultimately result in loss of organ function. Most anti-inflammatory drugs work by blocking the mechanisms of pro-inflammatory signaling pathways.OSE ImmunotherapeuticsDeveloped by the companyOSE-230, with the potential to promote the resolution of inflammation in affected tissues and restore tissue integrity, thereby addressing chronic inflammation. In preclinical studies, OSE-230 has demonstrated the potential to restore tissue homeostasis, integrity, and function.

Under the terms of the agreement, AbbVie will receive a global exclusive license for the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of OSE-230. OSE Immunotherapeutics will receive an upfront payment of $48 million and is eligible for additional payments of up to $665 million upon achieving clinical development, regulatory, and commercial milestones.
