Recently, Beijing StarMab BioMed Technology Ltd. (referred to as: StarMab BioMed) announced the completion of a multi-million RMB A+ round of financing. This round of financing was led byZhuhai Sci-Tech Investment、Zhuhai High-tech Golden InvestmentAndGuangda HuitongJoint investment, with StartPoint Capital serving as the financial advisor for subsequent rounds of financing.

StarMab BioMed was founded in 2019. Based on its proprietary nano-multi-antibody biopharmaceutical platform technology, the company focuses on breakthroughs in indications currently lacking treatment options and is committed to developingInnovative Multi-functional Antibody DrugsAs well as clinical research and commercialization on a global scale. Prior to this round of financing, StarMab BioMed had already gained favor from investment institutions such as Aethan Capital, CICC Capital, Huajin Capital, and Chang'an Private Capital.
Public information shows,Nanobodies are a special class of antibodies that consist of only one heavy-chain variable region (VHH) and two conventional CH2 and CH3 regions. Nanobodies possess water solubility and structural stability that cannot be matched by conventional single-domain antibodies, and they can bind to antigens with high specificity and high affinity, thereby neutralizing or blocking relatively hidden antigenic epitopes. In addition, it has the advantages of low molecular weight, easy expression, and less likely to cause steric hindrance.Based on this special structure, it combines the advantages of traditional antibodies and small molecule drugs.NanobodyHas gradually become an emerging force in the new generation of new drug research and development.
According toStarMab BioMed Official Website,The company has built a pipeline of approximately 10 products under research, covering the fields of oncology, inflammation, ophthalmology, and neurological diseases. Among them, the drug with faster progress, SM3321, is aTumor Dual-Target and CD16A Agonist-Mediated Nano Multi-Antibody Drug, which has already been approved for IND in both China and the U.S., with Phase 1 clinical trials currently underway. Preclinical studies have shown that the product exhibits strong anti-tumor efficacy and safety; its unique structural design enables high-affinity targeting and binding to multiple tumor sites while activating immune cell function, achieving specific killing of tumor cells while minimizing non-specific toxic reactions.
