On March 2, 2024, the event "2024 AstraZeneca China R&D Day - Committed to Conquering Cancer," hosted by AstraZeneca's Global R&D China Center, successfully concluded. Previously, AstraZeneca announced that Shanghai had become a global strategic center, with the Global R&D China Center upgraded to one of the five major global strategic R&D centers, standing alongside those in Cambridge, UK; Gaithersburg and Boston in the US; and Gothenburg, Sweden. This highlights AstraZeneca’s recognition of the global leadership of its R&D team in China and its firm confidence in China’s innovation.

Themed "Science for Life, Innovation for R&D," the AstraZeneca Global R&D China Center has successfully held four events since it began hosting the China R&D Day in 2022. This platform is crucial for connecting AstraZeneca’s global R&D with Chinese innovation. Through this platform, AstraZeneca's global R&D management team continues to focus on China's innovative capabilities in oncology, chronic diseases, and rare diseases. They also keep an eye on the innovative development in China’s basic sciences, translational medicine, and clinical R&D, seeking opportunities for in-depth exchanges and collaborations with scholars and experts from Chinese research institutions, clinical research centers, and innovative enterprises.
"2024 AstraZeneca China R&D Day - Committed to Conquering Cancer" is a two-day event, with nearly thirty top experts and scholars from nearly twenty clinical research centers, academic institutions, and industry organizations participating in the keynote forum and three sub-forums.Focusing on cutting-edge research achievements in oncology and gastric cancer, breast cancer, gynecological tumors, hematological malignancies, cell therapyIn fields such as [...] , in-depth exchanges and discussions on cooperation were carried out. The number of AstraZeneca's global senior oncology R&D management team members who participated in the event onsite also reached a new high! The two-day conference was full of valuable insights and exciting moments, attracting nearly 400 live attendees and over ten thousand online viewers.
During this R&D Day event, AstraZeneca's Global R&D China Center unveiledAstraZeneca R&D China Translational Medicine Research FundSelected topics for 2023 and the latest topics for 2024. The three selected topics for 2023 are from the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the Cancer Hospital of Fudan University, and Ruijin Hospital affiliated with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Lihua Chen from the Cancer Hospital of Fudan University and Dr. Xi Jiao from Peking University Cancer Hospital were successfully selected.AstraZeneca Global Oncology R&D China Postdoctoral FellowPlan. The plan was launched last year, aiming to support and cultivate China's future scientific leaders, providing financial support to top Chinese talents as well as academic guidance from AstraZeneca's international leading scientists.
