This Phase III clinical trial plans to enroll 12,500 patients with elevated Lp(a).AtherosclerosisOr patients at risk of cardiovascular events, expected to be completed in March 2029.

Lepodisiran was initially developed by Dicerna. In 2018, Eli Lilly and Company entered into a strategic collaboration with Dicerna to develop multiple siRNA therapies, with Lepodisiran being the second pipeline candidate from their partnership. Dicerna was acquired by Novo Nordisk for $3.3 billion in 2021.
At the end of 2023, the Phase I clinical data of Lepodisiran was published inJAMAThe journal showed that the effect of a single injection of Lepodisiran could last for a year.
