On Tuesday local time, Novo Nordisk, the producer of the "weight-loss wonder drug," announced positive progress in treating kidney disease with its widely-used semaglutide in a late-stage trial, reducing kidney disease-related risks by 24%. The trial, named FLOW, involved the drug Ozempic, primarily used for diabetes symptoms, with semaglutide as its active ingredient. In an announcement on Tuesday, the company stated that compared to the placebo group, type 2 diabetes patients treated with semaglutide (1.0 mg) saw a 24% reduction in risks associated with kidney failure, chronic kidney disease progression, and death from complications. The trial has already achieved its goal. (Cailian Press)Original link
