CenterWill focus on the innovative small nucleic acid drug field, and build a biological target discovery, sequence design platform, solid-phase synthesis system, and in vivo efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology platform in stages, becoming the core driving force and intellectual hub for Visirna's in-house team to explore cutting-edge technologies and conduct in-depth research. It will continue to increase R&D investment, integrate internal and external resources, form an entire industry chain layout, and inject new momentum into the development of the park’s biopharmaceuticals and healthcare industry.

The center is equipped with automated oligonucleotide synthesis and purification platforms, small-molecule organic synthesis equipment, and in vitro pharmacology and efficacy testing devices to support Visirna's in-house pipeline in sequence design, chemical synthesis, biology, and delivery technology research.

"The establishment of Visirna's China R&D Center marks an important milestone in our development journey," said Zou Xiaoming, CEO of Weierzhen Biotechnology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. With strong support from all parties in the park, the center was able to be completed and opened rapidly. The advantageous resources and agglomeration effects in terms of talent, research, and industry within the park will also provide robust support for the company’s growth.
Currently, the company's product pipeline includes three small nucleic acid drugs in clinical development, targeting the cardiovascular and metabolic disease fields. The coordinated clinical development and registration strategy between China and the U.S. will further accelerate the registration and market launch of these products under research. "We look forward to the center achieving the initial synthesis and analysis of small nucleic acid drugs, progressing through cellular biology phases P1 and P2, and advancing into clinical development. In the future, more independently developed products will move from the park to the whole of China and to the world, benefiting more patients."
