Venture Capital Firm Focused on Financial Services
On March 13, Zephyr AI, a healthcare technology company located in Virginia and dedicated to developing rapid, interpretable artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the democratization of precision medicine, announced the successful completion of its $111 million Series A financing round. Participants in this round included Revolution Growth, Eli Lilly and Company, Jeff Skoll, and EPIQ Capital Group, among others. The company is developing enhanced data federation tools and various machine learning algorithms in the fields of oncology and cardiometabolic diseases. Founded by Red Cell Partners in 2021, the company completed an $18.5 million seed funding round in March 2022.Grant Verstandig, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Zephyr AI, stated:"Among all high-income countries, the United States has the highest avoidable cancer and cardiometabolic-related mortality rates. We must do better. At Zephyr AI, we are harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to extract new insights for better patient stratification and response prediction, and to improve the integration of real-world data. With the support of our world-class team and this group of investors, we are deploying one of the largest clinical genetics datasets, which has unprecedented breadth in disease states and data partners. In fact, we are now poised to support the mission of democratizing precision medicine, enhancing the speed and success rate of clinical trials."Justin Stebbing, Ph.D., Chairman of the Scientific and Medical Advisory Board of Zephyr AI, Editor of the Nature sub-journal Oncogene, and Professor of Biomedical Sciences at ARU Cambridge, stated:"The company's technology stands out in two key aspects. First, it has empirically demonstrated the ability to harness complex real-world patient data, which has historically been a challenge in this field. Second, by leveraging the latest breakthroughs in representation learning, the technology elucidates the biological context behind its predictions. This contextual understanding is crucial in drug development decision-making, revealing unpredictable insights into patient selection that maximize the value of approved and developing drugs using today’s tools."The new funding will enable Zephyr AI to further enhance its analytical speed and strengthen its extensive collection of training and validation datasets. Additionally, the funds will support the expansion of the company’s scientific and commercial teams to accelerate the delivery of its rapidly growing insights to the market.Jeff Sherman, Co-founder, Interim CEO, and CTO of Zephyr AI, stated:"The expansion of our diversified multimodal data resources will accelerate the development of Zephyr AI's algorithms, paving the way for us to transform the landscape of precision medicine and improve outcomes for our partners and patients."Follow the official account below to see the world!
