Beijing News (Reporter Zhang Xiulan) On March 19, Novo Nordisk announced an investment of approximately 4 billion yuan in Tianjin for the expansion project of aseptic formulations. The project will adopt globally leading isolator technology to provide a higher level of aseptic assurance for formulation production. The entire project is planned to be completed by 2027.
As early as the first quarter of 2023, Novo Nordisk invested 1.18 billion yuan to launch the finished product workshop expansion project and introduced a pre-filled injection pen production line. Novo Nordisk stated that with the expansion of sterile formulation production, the company would further increase its production capacity to support the localized production of more innovative drugs in the future.
2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Novo Nordisk China. The Tianjin production plant has become one of Novo Nordisk's global strategic production bases, with approximately 1,700 employees, playing a significant role in Novo Nordisk's global supply chain.
