Shanghai Securities News, China Securities Network -- On March 19, Porton Biologics Ltd. (referred to as Porton Biologics), a subsidiary of Porton Pharma, announced a strategic cooperation with ROC ROCK Biotechnology (referred to as ROC ROCK). The two parties have reached a strategic cooperation for the IND application of the RR-M01 pipeline, jointly accelerating the development of the third-generation CAR-M drug, bringing new hope for the treatment of malignant solid tumors, especially recurrent and refractory solid tumors.

According to reports, ROC ROCK Biotechnology is a clinical-stage company focused on the research and development of macrophage-based drugs for cancer and chronic diseases. The company was incubated in Berlin, Germany, and was founded by Professor Yin Xiushan, a Chinese scientist who returned to China from Europe with over two decades of cutting-edge scientific research experience. This biomedicine strategic high-tech enterprise is driven by gene editing, cell programming, and targeted delivery technologies. It has completed a multi-regional layout in Suzhou and Berlin, Germany, and pioneered a closed-loop industrial chain centered on macrophages.

At the ceremony, Yin Xiushan, CEO of ROC ROCK Biotechnology, stated: "We are very pleased to reach a strategic cooperation with Porton Biologics. Porton Biologics is a highly mature CDMO company, especially with rich project experience accumulated in the cell therapy field. We believe that the excellent technical team at Porton Biologics can help ROC ROCK Biotechnology advance the R&D of the RR-M01 new drug quickly and efficiently, accelerating the clinical registration and market launch process of cell therapy drugs."

Data shows that Porton Biologics Ltd. was established in December 2018, based in Suzhou Industrial Park. Relying on its parent company Porton Pharma Solutions, it has built CRO and CDMO platforms for plasmids, viral vectors, cell therapy, gene therapy, and nucleic acid therapeutics. It provides end-to-end services from research packaging, library construction, process development, analytical method development, cGMP manufacturing to formulation filling, covering different stages of drug development to help clients accelerate the drug R&D and market launch process.

Tao Rong, Co-founder of Porton Advanced Solutions and CEO of Porton Biologics, stated: "We are very pleased to have reached this in-depth strategic cooperation with an excellent macrophage drug development company like ROC ROCK Biotechnology. Last year, the RR-M01 injection, a third-generation CAR-M drug independently developed by ROC ROCK Biotechnology, completed the world's first clinical dosing and evaluation in subjects, achieving positive results; accelerating the clinical trial registration for this pipeline to benefit cancer patients as soon as possible is our shared goal. We deeply appreciate the trust from ROC ROCK Biotechnology. Porton Biologics will also ensure smooth sailing for ROC ROCK’s new drug development by leveraging international technical standards, rigorous experimental design, standardized quality management, and extensive project experience. We hope that through our joint efforts, we can expedite the development process of ROC ROCK’s CAR-M drugs, allowing effective treatments to reach the public sooner." (Wang Yi)
