Recently,The "Metabolism-Enhanced CD19 CAR-T Clinical Research (IIT) Project" led by Professor Wang Xingbing from the Pioneer Medicine and Frontier Technology Institute of the Comprehensive National Science Center for Health in Hefei has been successfully selected for the 2024 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Late-Breaking Minisymposium oral presentation. The project is led and organized by Professor Wang Xingbing from the Institute of Pioneer Medicine and Frontier Technology as the chief expert, with Westlake University and Shenzhen Leman Biotech Co., Ltd. as the joint applicants, and they are responsible for corresponding sub-projects.
Leman Biotech Co., Ltd's metabolically enhanced IL-10 CD19 CAR-T cell therapy (Meta10-19 injection) is currently undergoing clinical translational research. The relevant IIT clinical study, which began in February 2023, has already achieved complete remission in more than ten patients with relapsed/refractory lymphoma or acute leukemia at an extremely low treatment dose (only 1%-5% of the commercialized CD19 CAR-T cell therapy dose). Moreover, the entire treatment process is mild and controllable, with no significant cytokine release syndrome or neurotoxicity—common side effects of CAR-T therapy—observed in any of the enrolled patients during treatment. The metabolically enhanced IL-10 CD19 CAR-T holds promise to offer a safer, more effective, and affordable preferred treatment option for patients with related cancers.

The AACR Annual Meeting, as a time-honored and globally prestigious event in the field of cancer research, will be grandly held in San Diego, USA, from April 5 to April 10, 2024. This meeting will bring together experts and scholars from the global cancer research community to discuss early-stage research and innovative advancements in oncology. The successful selection of the metabolically enhanced CD19 CAR-T cell injection for the 2024 AACR Breakthrough Research Oral Presentation highlights the project's scientific innovation and significant progress in clinical research, earning recognition from international peers.According to the abstract published on the official website of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), a total of 387 studies were selected for the Late-Breaking Research at the 2024 AACR Annual Meeting, including over 30 research achievements from China. The Late-Breaking Research is an important session of the AACR Annual Meeting, mainly showcasing the latest discoveries in fundamental cancer research and the most innovative therapies in the field of cancer treatment, with only a small portion chosen for oral presentations. Notably,The clinical research (IIT) project on metabolism-enhanced CD19 CAR-T, with its outstanding clinical data, became the only oral report from China on the latest breakthrough progress at this annual meeting. At that time, as a representative of China's scientific research strength, this project will showcase its latest research achievements alongside six other groundbreaking studies from around the globe at the conference, and engage in in-depth exchanges with international peers.
