Shanghai Stock News, China Securities Network, March 19: Novo Nordisk announced an investment of approximately 4 billion yuan in Tianjin for the expansion project of aseptic formulation production. This aseptic formulation production expansion project will adopt globally leading isolator technology to provide a higher level of aseptic assurance for formulation production. The entire project is planned to be completed by 2027.
The company stated that 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Novo Nordisk China. Three decades ago, Novo Nordisk took its first step in establishing roots in China by building its production facility in Tianjin, which has since become one of its global strategic production bases. In the first quarter of 2023, Novo Nordisk invested 1.18 billion yuan to initiate the expansion project of the finished product workshop and introduced a pre-filled injection pen production line. This investment in the sterile formulation expansion project represents another milestone in Novo Nordisk's development in Tianjin, further enhancing its production capacity in China and meeting Chinese patients' demand for innovative medicines.
