AbbVie and Landos Biopharma Announce Definitive Agreement for AbbVie to Acquire Landos Biopharma for Over $200 MillionLandos Biopharma's lead project, NX-13, is a potential "first-in-class" oral NLRX1 agonist designed to treat ulcerative colitis (UC), and it has currently entered phase 2 clinical trials.

Landos Biopharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel oral therapies for patients with autoimmune diseases. Landos' lead program is NX-13, an oral NLRX1 agonist, in development for the treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.NX-13's dual-mode mechanism of action is designed to reduce reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress while simultaneously decreasing pro-inflammatory signaling, demonstrating anti-inflammatory effects and the potential to promote epithelial repair.

NLRX1 Plays a Key Role in Regulating Immune Metabolism and Inflammation, and Its Activation Can Influence Multiple Mechanisms Involved in the Development of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). NEXUS is a Phase 2 Proof-of-Concept Clinical Trial for NX-13, Designed to Evaluate the Drug’s Efficacy in Patients with Moderate to Severe Ulcerative Colitis. NEXUS is a Randomized, Double-Blind, Multicenter, Placebo-Controlled, Multi-Dose, 12-Week Induction Treatment Study. Participants Will Be Randomly Assigned to Receive Either 250 mg or 750 mg of Immediate-Release NX-13 or a Placebo. The Primary Objective of the Trial is to Assess the Clinical Efficacy, Safety, and Pharmacokinetics of Oral NX-13 Compared to Placebo. Currently, the Study Is Recruiting Participants in the United States and Europe.

According to the terms of the agreement,AbbVie to Acquire Landos for Approximately $137.5 Million, with Potential Additional $75 Million Upon Achieving Clinical Development Milestones。This transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024.
